Reasons To Be Cheerful

I had a message the other day from my old mate Dave who I worked with at Royal Mail. He's still working there and after reading the top of my blog, the part that asks if I've done the right thing by giving up my job. He says "does a bear s**t in the woods". I presume by that that he means I have done the right thing. This followed on from a knock on the door from the postman delivering a parcel to me on Tuesday. It was another old mate Steve who went on to tell me about all the changes taking place at the office. He was NOT a happy bunny.

These two incidents got me thinking about my decision to leave and although I don't doubt that I made the right choice, I do have "dark" moments. It got me thinking of the good things about leaving, and here are a few.
  • I do not have to get up in the middle of the night anymore to go to work.
  • I now only go to bed once in every 24 hour period. (No afternoon kip)
  • I do not feel completely shattered all the time.
  • I have cut down on the amount of pain from my arthritic knees from not getting in and out of a van 150 times a day.
  • I can go and see my grand children anytime I feel like it.
  • I can go out on my bike anytime of day I feel like.
  • I can go out for a pint anytime I like.
  • I can do whatever I feel like doing at any time.

These are the primary reasons that make my life so much more pleasent now. In the future things will only be better. I'm a positive person who has spent 37 years working for a living and now its time to take stock, re-evaluate and look for oppourtunites to make life more enjoyable.

I have just started my new photography blog. This will help me keep all my information together for future refrence but feel free to take a look. You may learn something.
